NBA jerseys are getting ads

Teams will sell a small patch, worth $100 million a year altogether, starting in 2017.

Just days after the NBA’s regular season went out in a double-blaze of Steph Curry/Kobe Bryant glory, NBA owners voted Friday to allow ads on players jerseys starting in two years.

It’s not much, teams will sell a 2.5-inch square patch, quite a bit less than say, soccer uniforms.

Commissioner Adam Silver says the program should bring in about $100 million.
