A chart of how much time Barack Obama spends in economic meetings and on vacation

Comparing the hours President Obama spent in meetings about the economy, and on golf outings, in 2012.

The Government Accountability Institute came out with its latest report today, a time analysis of the hours President Barack Obama has spent in meetings during his term.

Some notable results, according to the report: President Barack Obama has spent 3.6 percent of his total work time in economic meetings or briefings of any kind, and the number of days with some sort of economic meeting have declined significantly throughout his time in office.

The numbers were tabulated using “the White House official calendar; Politico’s comprehensive calendar; and media reports.” In other words: the numbers are only from public meetings and a spattering of media reports.

The GAI also broke down all of Obama’s golf hours, estimating that it takes four hours to play a round of golf. Here’s what how his hours in 2012 playing golf and taking part in economic meetings compare:

According to CBS News, former President George W. Bush, known for taking a number of vacations during his term, took 107 days of vacation in his first year: 69 on his Texas ranch, 78 at Camp David, and four at his parents’ home in Maine.
