When life hands you lemons, make lemonade, but what about when RIM hands you BlackBerrys?

This is a Marketplace.org Reader

Companies who rely on BlackBerry phones and messaging are trying to figure out what to do if, phone maker, Research in Motion goes under. RIM has been pummeled by its competitors, mainly Apple and Android devices, and it’s against the ropes. It’s doubtful that even the best cut-man in the business can open its swollen eyes.

Bloomberg has this quote:

“RIM’s situation is dire, but even in a worst-case scenario, RIM’s servers aren’t likely to get turned off anytime soon,” said Current Analysis’s Greengart. “Still, IT managers are looking more seriously at alternatives to BlackBerry. There’s a whole industry ready to provide security and management around Apple and Android,” he said.

As Research in motion prepares for today’s annual meeting, it will have to conjure up the eye of the tiger to fend of naysayers. The meeting is set to take place on the company’s home turf in Waterloo, Ontario, where I hope there’s a set of outdoor, marble stairs it has been using to train for today.
