A lot of people are kind of down on Mozilla for pumping out so many new updates of Firefox all the time. There was a new one in spring, another one in June, and another one just a couple weeks ago. Updating your software all the time is a hassle, just ask anyone who has ever used iTunes. Mitchell Baker, the head of the Mozilla Foundation says, in the past, features could be queuing up for a year before they were released. “If we want the browser to be the interface for the Internet, we need to make it more like the Internet. That means delivering capabilities when they are ready. That means a rapid release process. If we don’t do something like this the browser becomes a limiting factor in what the Internet can do.”
