TEXT OF STORY

Steve Chiotakis: Get this: a couple of MIT students have found a way to get a snapshot of Earth 93,000 feet up without the hassle of rockets, or even satellites.

They filled a weather balloon with high-flying Helium, attached a beer cooler equipped with camera and warming pads and let ‘er zip into near-space. For about 150 bucks, they got the pictures they wanted — and a lot of notoriety.
