‘SimCity’ to return next year, in 3D

Jeremy Hobson Mar 8, 2012

So this week is the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.

And a lot of it can be a little inside baseball… but one announcement might hit home for a number of our listeners: there is a new “SimCity” game on the horizon.

The game will be made completely in 3D, and is the first update to the game in around five years.

Here to talk with us, for our Mid-day Extra, is Jeff Ryan, a video and computer game expert and author. He says that the company that first released a game 23 years ago can still be relevant, even in an age of Zynga and a whole wealth of other competitors.
