Idaho just became the first state to require that all high school students must earn at least two credits from online courses. The new rule, which will apply to freshmen starting in 2012, was brought about as a money-saving initiative. Less teacher time teaching classes means less money to pay those teachers. Guess who’s not happy with that. Yup, teachers! Some state government officials are worried that computers could eventually replace teachers and send business out of state, to whomever makes the software teaching the kids.
