Finnish company Nokia has been one of the top hand set cell phone makers in the world for a long time but they just suffered a huge setback in a bid to break into the US smartphone market. They had been trying to bring their new smartphone, the X7, to America but the carrier they’re working with, AT&T, was not willing to give the phone much of a marketing push or go along with a lot of subsidies to get customers to buy them. They’ll continue to sell the X7 in other countries. They’ll also keep trying to sell its predecessor, the N8, in the US although that one comes without a carrier subsidy at all and costs $469, so good luck with that. Incidentally, the X7 was the phone Nokia hired Ennio Morricone to write the ring tones for.
