World’s First iPhone Virus

Steve Henn Oct 21, 2010

An Australian student named Ashley Towns is claiming to have created the world’s first iPhone virus. The bug alters the wallpaper of infected iPhones, changing it to feature 80s pop icon, Rick Astley.

The virus only works on phones that have been “jailbroken” or altered to allow apps not sold in the Apple store. And the virus can only infect iPhones if users have not changed their passwords.
