Don’t fight fire with fire. Fight drones with drones.

Here are the numbers we're reading and watching for Friday.

$130 billion

That’s how much Dow Chemical and DuPont say they will be worth following Friday’s announced merger. As the New York Times writes, the resulting company, DowDuPont, will become the second-largest chemical company in terms of revenue. BASF of Germany is the first.

9 million

That’s the growth in new households being rented out over the last decade, according to a new study from Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing Studies. And those new renters are not the young, 20-somethings you might expect. Over half of those renting residents fall in the 40-plus category. Some analysts say its because when older American lost their homes during the housing crisis, they turned to renting.

32 percent

That’s how much shares in Australian enterprise software maker Atlassian shot up during its IPO on Thursday. The maker of workplace collaboration software products has more than 50,000 customers including Audi, Dow Jones, NASA, Tesla and Twitter. Its strong performance has broken this year’s downward trend for tech IPOs.

150 meters

That’s the maximum height you’re allowed to fly a drone in Japan. The Tokyo Police have announced plans to launch a squad of drones to take down…other drones. The newly announced policy states that the first course of action against illegal drone operators will be a warning via loudspeakers. But as the BBC writes, if the drone continues to operate against the rules, the squad of drones equipped with nets will be sent to bring the offender down.
