Predictive Medical Technologies has come up with an algorithm that can predict if a patient will have a heart attack within 24 hours. So far, the company has only looked at old data and matched the algorithm against what actually happened to the patient. There are only about 100 hospitals in the country will all the systems in place to make the algorithm work. The company is about to start testing it out in real time and by next year could go the FDA for approval.
