It’s all about the pictures

First the iPad made a splash with its hi-res screen, then Adobe announced an update to its Photoshop software that has people going bananas, and yesterday Facebook announced it’s changing the way users can view pictures. Full screen mode. That’s big.

Inside Facebook writes:

The fullscreen option is the most immersive photos experience on Facebook to date, stripping away buttons and ads when users click an arrow in the top right corner of images. Pages can leverage the new viewer by sharing high resolution images and telling users how to view it full size.

Now, when you’re scrolling through your news feed and your buddy posts an Instagram shot of her morning smoothie, you have the option of seeing it the size of your monitor. Mmmmm, smoothie.
