Scholastic took a survey of 1,045 kids ages 9 to 17 and the results are pretty interesting.

Although only 8 percent of parents owned an e-reader, another 16 percent expressed plans to buy one this year. A third of kids said they would read more if they had access to this type of device and 57 percent expressed an interest in reading an e-book. Parents of these children have a unique challenge as this generation is more saturated with information than ever before.

Interestingly, Scholastic publishes this series of books you might have heard of about a boy named Harry Potter. But author J.K. Rowling won’t let those books be published electronically. She’d rather have people read them on paper.
