With U.S. travelers watching their wallets and international tourists anxious about being detained at American airports, the travel industry is suffering a double whammy.
Many travelers are opting to stay closer to home. And households earning $100,000 or more are forecast to make up about half of this summer’s travelers, according to analysis by Deloitte.
In May, the FAA said it was short 3,000 controllers. One factor in that: all air traffic controllers have to train at a single FAA academy in Oklahoma City.
