The first time “Marketplace” host Kai Ryssdal spoke with Janti Soeripto, president and CEO of Save the Children U.S., she highlighted how essential supply chain management is to the organization’s humanitarian work.

Ryssdal checked back in with Soeripto about how the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and increased shipping costs are affecting Save the Children.

“Our mission is to serve children, and quite often that is in the hardest to reach places,” Soeripto said. “Getting there has just become a little bit harder and a little bit more expensive, but we are incredibly determined.”
