Meet the Team

Caitlin is a reporter for Marketplace. She's particularly interested in rural economies, public lands and their resources, wildlife, and the Mountain West. She's based in western Wyoming.

Virginia joined Marketplace as a Digital Editor in 2022 and helps keep the web operation humming along. Her long career in digital media includes reporting and editing on beats including real estate, New York City news, lifestyle, tech and personal finance. She previously served as the managing editor at Lifehacker. She is a proud member of both the WGA East and SAG-AFTRA.

Bridget is the director of podcasts at Marketplace. She's also the host and co-creator of “Million Bazillion,” Marketplace's award-winning podcast for kids about money.

Alice has been a producer at “This Is Uncomfortable” since August 2022. Before that, she worked on podcasts at Pineapple Street Studios, Transmitter Media, ProPublica and New York Public Radio. She writes a newsletter for podcast and radio makers who are early in their careers. Alice is also a 2023 MJ Bear fellow. The fellowship supports journalists under 30 whose work represents the best of digital news. When not working, Alice enjoys gardening, powerlifting and walking her dog.

Stephanie Hughes is a senior reporter at Marketplace. She’s focused on education and the economy, and is based in Baltimore.

Caleigh Wells is a lifelong public radio nerd. She’s from Los Angeles, but today she lives in Cleveland, covering climate, the environment, and all things economic in the Great Lakes region. She’s also an avid horseback rider, a capital-A Amateur Gardener, and a proud junior ranger at Cuyahoga Valley National Park since 2025.

Mitchell’s most important job at Marketplace is to explain the economy in ways that non-expert, non-business people can understand. Michell thinks of his audience as anyone who works, whether for money or not, and lives in the economy . . . which is most people.
