Oil well operators are required by law to plug wells once they’re finished using them, in order to prevent leaks. But yet, there are likely millions nationwide that haven’t been plugged.
According to a new Dallas Fed survey, half of oil executives in Texas and the surrounding states say they’re not planning to build any more wells.
The company is being delisted from the New York Stock Exchange and seeking to reorganize.
