A new report from Zillow says lower mortgage rates, moderating home prices, and expected home growth could boost housing affordability in some metro areas this year.
New data from Harvard’s Joint Center for Housing Studies shows that a growing number of people in their 60s, 70s and 80s still have mortgage debt, and they’re carrying more of it than than previous generations did.
Mortgage rates fell slightly last week, according the Mortgage Bankers Association. But even if rates keep falling, people will still struggle to afford homes.
