The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Japan-based SoftBank will allow the U.S. government to pick a member of Sprint's board if the deal goes through.
The Dish TV Network this morning is making a big bid to get into the mobile space. It wants to buy the country’s third largest cellphone carrier Sprint-Nextel for more than $25 billion.
The Japanese mobile phone carrier Softbank has reached a deal to buy 70 percent of U.S. wireless company Sprint Nextel. The $20 billion dollar deal is the largest-ever Japanese acquisition of a foreign company.
