Best Buy announced this week that it’s raising its outlook for the fiscal year. This follows a second quarter that saw the retailer’s comparable sales increase 4.1%.

Quarterly reports from Best Buy, Target, Costco, Kroger, and others will provide a glimpse into consumer spending.

Best Buy is making a push to sell more in-store ads on their many available screens, including "takeovers" by a single brand

And especially the Nintendo Switch 2.

The move carries some risk.

Otherwise, the electronics retailer had a meh quarter. We’re four years out from the pandemic sales spike, equating to common upgrade cycles.

Demand for consumer electronics has fallen since the early days of the pandemic. But Best Buy says electronics demand could stabilize in the near future, or even grow.

Best Buy reports quarterly earnings, as the shadow of tariffs looms against consumer electronics made in China.

Some companies are better suited to change where they get things made than others.
