Back in the fall, “Marketplace” host, Amy Scott, was out in Kansas learning about what farmers are up against in a world of changing climate and changing policies for the latest season of the podcast, “How We Survive.”

Among the farmers she spoke with were Vance and Louise Ehmke. They own Ehmke Seed, a 14,000-acre farm in Healy, Kansas where they grow and sell wheat and grain seed to other growers.

As we roll over into a new year, Scott checked back in with the Ehmkes to hear how they finished out 2025 and are thinking about 2026.
