OpenTable facing competition from the Food Network

OpenTable is about to get some competition from the Food Network, in the form of their new site called CityEats.

Trying to book a last minute table at that trendy new restaurant downtown?

You can always call in and beg — or you can use OpenTable, the online reservation giant.

OpenTable boasts that it’s working with 50 percent of all full-service restaurants in the U.S.

Here to talk with us in today’s Mid-day Extra is Tom Forte of the Telsey Group. He says that while there is definitely space in the market for more reservation websites to thrive, OpenTable will most likley stay at the top of the pack.
