Geez, that doesn’t sound very promising, does it? But this isn’t a metaphor, it’s a TV show called House Of Cards with some pretty big names behind it. It’s being created by director David Fincher of The Social Network and Fight Club fame and it stars Kevin Spacey. It’s a political thriller based on a BBC series of the same name. Netflix is in negotiations to be the network that carries it, instead of any of the cable networks. So just as you needed to have HBO to watch The Wire, you’d need to have Netflix to watch House Of Cards. Obviously, this would dramatically change the TV distribution industry.
