Hannah Harris Green

Producer

Hannah formerly produced the podcasts “This Is Uncomfortable” and “Financially Inclined” at Marketplace. She started working with Marketplace as a freelancer, when she produced the "Breaking the Oath" series for “This Is Uncomfortable.” The series delved into the family life of Stewart Rhodes, who was convicted of inciting the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. Since then she's helped pilot and produce “Financially Inclined,” Marketplace's first video podcast for teens and young adults, and lead “This Is Uncomfortable” episodes about financial domination, reality TV and more. Before joining Marketplace, Hannah reported on health, gender and surveillance. You can find her work on these topics on “Bodies” podcast from KCRW and “Science Vs” from Gimlet, as well as in print outlets including BBC Future, The Guardian, Vice and Quartz. She’s done some of her best work in the field, like when she went to West Virginia to report on harm reduction for “Bodies” and when she went to rural northeast India to report on population control on a grant from the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting. Her work has received recognition from the Pulitzer Center, Fulbright, the Online Journalism Awards, Third Coast, New York Festivals and Tribeca. Hannah speaks French, Hindi and Urdu and loves it when she occasionally gets to use these languages in her work. In past lives, she has been a translator, a bicycle delivery person and a microfilm researcher. She is proud to be queer, neurodivergent, Jewish and Filipino.
