The Trans-Pacific Partnership, whose goal is keeping the United States competitive in the global economy, has been hailed by President Obama as the defining free trade deal of his administration.

But Rep. Rosa DeLauro, a Democrat from Connecticut, disagrees. Ahead of the congressional vote on the TPP, DeLauro argues that the lack of enforcement measures on issues like currency manipulation will not only render the agreement ineffective and widen the trade deficit, but cost America jobs as well.
