Pedal your way to the movies

John Moe Oct 6, 2011

Magnificent Revolution is a London-based environmental group that wants to “help people understand their energy use.” And one way to get its message to the public is by getting people to go to the movies. The concept is called Cycle-In Cinema, and all the electricity needed to screen the movie is provided by audience member pedaling stationary bikes. Audio is transmitted wirelessly to your mobile device, so you can plug in a set of ear buds while your pedaling. Since there’s no need for a traditional power outlet, the event organizers are taking the idea to the streets. They say, “These events could happen anywhere! We want to resurrect the abandoned corners of the country and weave some cinematic magic into our local parks, rooftops and playgrounds.”
