Yeah, weird, huh? Research In Motion, parent company of the Berry, is reportedly negotiating contracts with record labels, which would enable users to share a limited amount of songs through BBM. BBM, of course, is the instant messaging feature that is widely praised by users and occasionally condemned by governments. The service would cost around $10 and be added to users’ phone bills, if they choose it.
I know if you’re an American you see this and you think, “BlackBerry is a business phone, not a lifestyle phone, who would ever use it?” But it could work in Europe, especially England where the BlackBerry is the phone of choice among young people (thus all the focus on it during the riots).
But really: music service on BlackBerry? Yeah, I don’t know.
