Is it news when we talk about BlackBerry struggling?

John Moe Nov 22, 2011

I mean honestly, should I report the sun rising in the east? Fish swimming? John Irving writing a book that involves wrestling?
Nonetheless there are new reports that after high hopes and initial sales that were not entirely sucky, Research In Motion’s line of BlackBerry devices aren’t moving very well at all since the implementation of the BlackBerry 7 operating system was introduced. This according to analysts at RBC Capital Markets.

PC Magazine pairs that news with more bleak news for RIM from last week:

Though RIM’s BlackBerry sales have traditionally been strongest among business customers, the latest data indicates that the company is slipping in that arena. For the first time, the iPhone has surpassed the BlackBerry as the dominant smartphone used by mobile employees, according to a report issued last week by Wi-Fi networking firm iPass.
Research in Motion saw its market share in the mobile workplace slip from 35 percent in 2010 to 32 percent in 2011, according to the iPass survey of about 2,300 mobile workers around the world. Apple’s iPhone surged to 45 percent market share.

But among business executives who live in 2003, BlackBerry is still ACES!
