Happy Oasis

John Moe Jul 14, 2011

The new Facebook game, “Happy Oasis” aims to fight Arab extremism. Suleiman Bakhit was living in Minnesota where, shortly after the 9/11 attacks, he was jumped and beaten for being an Arab. He came up with the concept for a comic book character – kind of like an Arabian Superman. The series has sold over 300,000 copies in Bakhit’s homeland of Jordan. The comic book inspired the Facebook game.
