We’ve come up to Boston this week to visit EmTech, the emerging technology conference put together by the publication Technology Review at MIT. At EmTech, big-wigs from business mingle with academics, entrepeneurs, and innovators of all kinds. And at the center of the conference is a very important space, MIT’s Media Lab, where some of the most important technologies and protocols we use every day are being discussed, developed, and tweaked. Associate director Andy Lippman has been here from the beginning. Standing near blinking screens and a ping-pong table fitted with sensors, he gave us a history of the Media Lab’s evolution.
