This final note today, more evidence — if you need it — that Donald Trump will do just about anything for publicity. Trump waded into the flap over the proposed mosque and Islamic center a couple of blocks from Ground Zero today. Trump has offered to buy out one of the mosque’s key backers for 25 percent over whatever he thinks the property’s worth. To be fair, Trump did say in a statement he’s doing it to end what he calls a “highly divisive situation.”
