There’s been a lot of reforms happening over the last few years. The latest targets mortgage brokers, who theoretically should be getting you the best loan deals possible. And health reform turns one, but it’ll be a while before any of the significant sections of it will be in effect. Reporter Sarah Varney takes a look at what some people are opting to do while they wait.

Plenty of folks are anxious about finding jobs, but commentator Cecilia Marquez shares why she’s no longer afraid of unemployment. Similarly, author Geneen Roth shares how she got over the shock of losing 30-years worth of savings by Bernie Madoff’s Ponzi scheme. Report Deb Monroe talks about what she’s really afraid of looking for a job: Posting a picture of herself on social media networks.

Tess took a look back at our Money Through the Ages series and your reactions with New York Times columnist Ron Lieber. We also checked in with one of the people we profiled, Susanna Wilson, who at 70, has nothing saved for retirement. Things may be looking up for her, but her financial adviser talks about why she should still be cautious. And here are the songs we played:

  • Yeah, you’re right – The MetersBuy
  • Gratisfaction – The StrokesBuy
  • Everything in its right place – RadioheadBuy
  • Come On – Melted ToysBuy
  • I never want to see you again – QuasiBuy
