Target to sell Kindle, B&N’s ad campaign for Nook

Daryl Paranada Apr 22, 2010

If you’re thinking of purchasing a Kindle, you can head on over to your nearest Target soon. Target will begin selling Amazon’s Kindle beginning April 25. The e-reader was previously only available from the Amazon website.

The retailer said it will sell Kindle for $259 and that it will only be available at select stores, including its flagship in Minneapolis and 102 stores in Florida. Target will roll out the e-reader in other locations later in the year.

In other e-reader news, Barnes & Noble says it will launch a major ad campaign for its e-reader, the Nook, which Best Buy stores are starting to sell this week. Check out the ad for the Nook below.

The e-reader push comes as both Kindle and the Nook are facing stiff competition from Apple’s iPad.
