As the debt ceiling debate drags on in Congress, the political whirlwind that’s dominated the news can sometimes cloud the reality of the real issue at hand – that our nation has accumulated more than $14 trillion in debt and it continues to grow.

This morning, we came across a fascinating infographic that puts it all into perspective. Los Angeles-based interactive designer Oto Godfry created what might be the most sobering visualization of the nation’s credit-card bill.
