Etch A Sketch gets a bump in the markets

Kai Ryssdal Mar 22, 2012

This final note today, which is kind of mind-boggling when you think about it.

Shares of a company called Ohio Art closed up 141 percent yesterday — 141 percent.

Why? Not for some amazing new breakthrough. Not for some incredible new product.

No, just ’cause it has the great good fortune to be the parent company of Etch A Sketch, which got all kinds of buzz yesterday when it became the political prop of the day in the GOP primaries.

Never trust the markets. That’s all I’m sayin’.
