If your summer travel plans include kids, you’re not alone. In an October survey from the Family Travel Association and New York University’s Tisch Center of Hospitality, 92% of parents are likely or very likely to travel with their children in the next year.

And more of those families are ending up at resorts — ones typically reserved by couples. High-end hotels and luxury resorts are now scrambling to accommodate this new customer base without displeasing their tried-and-true honeymooners.

Dobrina Zhekova wrote about the family travel takeover in Bloomberg and recently spoke with “Marketplace” host Kai Ryssdal about her reporting. Click the audio player above to hear their conversation.
