In the U.S., the average “all-in” spend for a single date in the U.S. is upwards of $180, according to research from BMO. That total includes pre-date grooming, dinner, drinks, and transportation costs.
But whether it’s just a coffee or dinner and drinks, dating for younger generations has gotten harder. Burnout from dating apps has Gen Z leaving the dating game altogether, said Sydney Lake, an associate editor at Fortune. That trend is showing up in dating apps’ bottom line.
