The wait for the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in the case of Learning Resources v. Trump, concerning whether the International Emergency Economic Powers Act authorizes the president to impose tariffs, continues.

In the meantime, tariffs remain front of mind for many importers. Daniella Velazquez de Leon is general manager at Organics Unlimited, a banana importer in San Diego, and, up until November, she was part of that group. Now, bananas are on the list of items exempted from tariffs.

Velazquez de Leon joined “Marketplace” host Kristin Schwab to discuss what it was like to hear that news, and which economic headwinds are on her radar now, instead.
