Vehicle sales remained strong in 2019

In the aftermath of the Great Recession there’s no way anyone would have predicted sales this robust.

As we head into the first full week of 2020, automakers are reporting their numbers for 2019. It was another strong year for car sales, and a particularly strong year for truck and SUV sales. More than 17 million new vehicles were sold in the U.S. last year — for the fifth year running.
