If you’re like many Americans, you may have boxed up belongings that you can’t bear to part with but also don’t have room for and stashed them in a storage space. But as storage spaces have sprung up, cities around the country are cracking down on them. New York this week became the latest to tighten zoning regulations to restrict, slow or prevent more storage units. Here’s why.
