The Japanese industrial conglomerate Toshiba has constructed a new financial mess. Today the company announced a write-down of a loss that could run “several billion U.S. dollars” when all is said and done. The issue is a big bet Toshiba made on nuclear energy here in the United States. One that’s turned awfully sour.
