Remember how, after Brexit, there were those stories about how the phrase “What is Brexit” saw a surge in Google searches in the U.K.?

Well, this is a true example of the fact that what goes around, comes around.

Merriam-Webster tweeted last night that its list of top word searches the past week or so include: fascism, bigot, xenophobe, racism, socialism, resurgence, xenophobia and misogyny. The number of searches this year for “fascism” have increased by over 400 percent alone.
