How hackable is your car?

Last year, two guys hacked a Jeep Cherokee. Here how things got better — or maybe not.

Andy Greenberg, a senior writer for Wired, went for a wild ride last year in a Jeep Cherokee that had been hacked by Charlie Miller and Chris Valasek.

This year, Miller and Valasek presented an update at the Black Hat conference in Las Vegas. The duo says they’ve figured out another way to hack certain models of Jeep Cherokees to make the vehicle even more dangerous for driver and passengers.

Greenberg covered that announcement, as well as a discovery by a group of University of Michigan researchers were able to easily hack a big rig truck. And not to be outdone, another group of researchers announced that they had managed to hack the Tesla S autopilot function.
