In the future, Angie’s List will take care of your home, too

The CEO of Angie's List talks making the site free and his plans to make the company more than just a reviews website

Scott Durchslag hasn’t been the CEO at Angie’s List for very long. He was appointed in September of 2015 but has already made some big changes to how the company is run.

In July, Angie’s List announced they’d remove the paywall to their reviews. Instead, the company has introduced tiered rates and offer extra services to those still willing to pay a regular fee. That move was one part of Durchslag’s plan to revitalize the company. The other part of the plan involves something much more radical.

“Where I really want to go” says Durchslag, “is where we become the first dedicated, purpose built home services marketplace that just automatically knows what you need done around your home and schedules that and dispatches that. It keeps track of it entirely for you.”
