I guess Ford really, really wanted to know what makes Tesla tick. 

Ford paid nearly $200,000 for the new Model X — that’s the one with the fancy doors.

The auto company paid $55,000 over sticker price to buy one last month just so it could drive it around and see how the thing works and then, one assumes, tear it apart bolt by bolt.

Happens all the time, apparently, car makers buying their rivals’ hottest models.
