Amazon fires back at NYT about its work culture

The internet retailer finds fault with the Times fact-checking process.

This final note on the way out: Today’s story of two giant companies pointing fingers and saying, “You started it,” “No, you started it,” comes to us from Amazon and the New York Times.

The Times had a big piece a little while back about the working conditions at Amazon and how terrible they are, which was co-written by Jodi Kantor, whom we talked with about the ordeal.

On Monday, Amazon spokesman Jay Carney fired back with a long post about the Times’ fact-checking process and what he says are errors in the piece, which you can read here.

He writes, “… Kantor never asked us to check or comment on any of the dozen or so negative anecdotes from named sources that form the narrative backbone of the story.”
