Canadian phone maker BlackBerry has reported a $4.4 billion loss in its third quarter earnings report. The company has been trying to get its early leader mojo back ever since Apple and Android took over the smart phone market. Earlier this year, BlackBerry replaced its CEO and tried to find a buyer — with little luck. But the latest report suggests BlackBerry’s new goal is to get some distance from the idea that it’s a company that makes phones. Ramon Lamas is a mobile analyst with IDC.
