Link rot and Supreme Court justices

The highest court in the land suffers from embarrassing "link rot."

This final note on the way out today — a little bit geeky, but still kind of interesting.

There’s some new research out of Harvard University which finds that more than half of the Internet links cited by the justices in Supreme Court opinions don’t work. “Link rot” is the technical term. Bothersome in everyday life, embarassing for the highest court in the land.

So they do what so many of us do: Print out the web pages in question, and put ’em in a folder.
