One year after Curiosity, Adam Steltzner on NASA’s next step

NASA's Adam Steltzner on the future of space exploration.

This week marks one year since the Mars rover Curiosity touched down on the Red Planet. The vehicle’s landing alone was a miracle of modern science and technology. But since then, Curiosity’s collected 190 gigabites of data and sent tens of thousands of images back from Mars — not to mention shooting lasers and using a bunch of fancy sensors. Several weeks ago Marketplace Tech spoke with the guy when it comes to the Mars rover, NASA engineer Adam Steltzner. On this one year Curiosity anniversary, we wanted to run a part of that conversation that didn’t air. It’s when Steltzner told us about the next phase of NASA’s plans for space exploration.

You can listen to an extended interview with Adam Steltzner here.
