The House of Representatives voted late Monday in favor of a bill that would ban a proposed requirement that companies rotate auditors every few years. The proposal, first put forward by the US Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, was aimed at preventing accountants from getting too cozy with the companies they’re auditing. The bill now goes to the Senate.
